Jason Shaplen is a seasoned executive coach and a respected leader in various sectors,
including business, diplomacy, communications, not-for-profit, and politics. With over three
decades of experience in executive roles, he specializes in leading organizations through life-cycle and inflection points, transforming them through an enhanced focus on strategy, management and culture.

As the Co-Founder and President of Hyka, a healthcare startup focused on interventional psychiatry, and a Founding Member of the Asian Leadership Institute Executive Coaching, Mr. Shaplen provides coaching exclusively to senior-level executives and extreme-high-
net-worth family business leaders. He also advises several companies, supporting CEOs and their boards on strategy, management, leadership, and governance.

Mr. Shaplen’s approach to coaching is highly personalized and centers on values clarification, a deeply personal undertaking unique to each person. He also works with executives on leading through relationship/connection and effective communication, believing that building a strong culture is key to long-lasting success. His ability to combine these aspects of leadership with the day-to-day transactional necessities of leading a company is a powerful combination.

Known for his outside-the-box thinking, Mr. Shaplen believes in pushing authority down, which goes to the heart of empowering people while simultaneously holding them accountable. As a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Johns Hopkins University, a Fulbright Scholar in the Philippines, and a Thomas J. Watson Fellow in Malaysia and Israel, Mr. Shaplen’s work has appeared in leading publications including Foreign Affairs, the New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, Newsweek etc.. He serves on several not-for-profit boards and is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
